Gear lever question
As posted before i binned my bike and broke my gear lever end completely off,
the question is : if i was to drill through where the end used to be, added a screw with lots of screw nuts in a row and tightend correctly and securely would this do the job? would it be safe? i cannot find a breaker from the back of MCN that has one going and i cant afford a brand new one. any thoughts? |
Re: Gear lever question
I did it to mine just before i crashed in January(droppped it in the garage lol) then when i crashed i went down on that side and ripped the whole lot off from the hanger on the frame. I hid that bloody quickly just incase I might've got done for riding an unroadworthy vehicle. Wouldnt think it would pass an MOT with it.

Re: Gear lever question
if it's just the stub that's broken off, drill it, tap it, and use a nut & bolt screwed in from the inner surface when it's mounted. If done correctly it's totally safe and at one point seemed to be the brake / gear lever of choice amongst the Soho massive.8)

Re: Gear lever question
Managed to break mine off the other day, so drilled tapped and locknutted here too. It's as good as a new un.
Alternatively, have a squiz here: http://shop.wemoto.com/pictures.dyn?u=1915477qqq5756358 |
