Insurance after crash
My bike insurance with eBike was £184 TPFT and then I had a fault crash and they requoted me £354. I thought that was fair enough, but due to frustrations with not being able to log onto their site, I tried a quote with Bennetts, and it came out as £160!! I am deadly sure I entered the accident details and 0 years NCB, I rechecked! What is wrong I don't know, but I clicked buy now and am now happily insured again, cheaper than before.
Moral: have a crash, you get cheaper insurance. :smt081 |
Re: Insurance after crash
Moral: check very carefully the t&c and the insurance docs. I know a couple people who have had insurance with Benetts online to find out theyre not covered for theft because apparently its supposed to stipulate you need an immobiliser but doesnt on the website.
Theres also been a few other cases im aware of with Bennetts online site missing out info - Id call them up and double check tbh to be absolutely 100% certain theyve included it. |
Re: Insurance after crash
Roger that Lyn. It was £134 but I noticed that was without legal, so I added legal cover. Still £160. T&C seem normal, and I have been insured with Bennetts before, although never had to claim. They are sending me through the document and precise details so I can check then.

Given Bennetts usually more expensive and dont allow mods if the other threads anything to go by its always worth double checking. Still no-ones quite beaten Carole Nash for the additional "premium" I was sent for an "undisclosed" accident.... insurance renewal was in August 06. Accident March 07, the premium sent out a month after. :smt081 |
Re: Insurance after crash
I had the same thing. Bennetts were always one the most expensive for me untill I had an accident and a ban, Now they're the cheapest.
Still paying a fair bit more than I should be but way lower than all the others. |
