I'm a bit sick...*UPDATED*

Well, last week I was sent home for two and a half days \\:D/- this week I've been sent home until Thursday :drink: . <<< none of that because of :smt025 (drugs) AND I can't do :riding: because...

I might have a slipped disc around C5/C6 - not confirmed yet but I'll be sent for a scan in due course and to be honest, I've had lots of pain relief and I can safely say that so far none of it works!!:smt017 Left shoulder and arm are mostly affected, so there's still a couple of things I can do:smt081 ...which is nice:cool:

To complicate things, the bike is on MOD land and needs an MOT on Friday...so I'll get myself a 'friend' to sort that one out...I hope.

So...bums!! Can I say that here? Bums Bums Bums and Bums again!!:-({|=

:smt056 . AWw poorly person. I fractured my spine a few years ago, which gives me bum ache of the most awful variety, and a stupid walk, and have regular injections in my shoulder cause i were a gymnast for ten years and its permenantly knackered.
So you do get sympathy from me.
me blokes got pins and plates in his hip... but none of us never learn to keep off our bikes whilst in agony

Hey!! Good one!!:D Damn those privateers!!

Thinking on, I'm considering cancelling the MOT, getting a friend to drop the bike home, then may be SORN it...tax expires end of May anyways...and if this ends up being long term...too many what ifs!!:smt017 .

Do you lose NCB when SORN'd?

Re: I'm a bit sick...

You will not lose your NCB while the bike is SORNed.
On the basis that you carry on with your Insurance (for fire and theft at least)

I did something similar recently. I think that I slipped a disc slightly and trapped a nerve. It was agony, I couldn't even lie down to sleep so had to try to kip in a chair. The doc prescribed amitriptyline and some strong anti-inflammatories. I think that the anti-inflammatories might have damaged my hearing (it's a known side effect) so be careful with them. Amitriptyline is an anti-depressant, but also acts as a muscle relaxant which reduced pressure on the nerve. It was the only thing that let me sleep properly.

I was signed off work for a couple of weeks, but we were really busy so I went back a week early.
