ok this is Suzy. She finally has plans to get her facelift next week. scabby isn't she.
She's my only mode of transport, and, I need something to replace her for the time being to commute to work. Any ideas? has to be cheap cheerful and reliable.
No twist and goes- theres enough chavs round here ridin them and a chav I ain't

What is your commute like?!!? Why does the SV have to come off the road? can you not do the face lift in stages? what does the 'face lift' consist of?!!? :smt081

subframes need powdercoating
new shock, new fork springs
new chain, sprockets
belly pan
hugger(black before anyone asks)
can't remember wot else
Got to be done all at once going to France on her in August.
Use suzy everwhere- no car- if I don't have a bike i'll go insane-single parent got to get away somehow:-({|=
My blokes bikes are at his house but too big/heavy unreliable or in pieces

I see, major work .. you could still easily stage it though ...

It looks nice enough to me, stop being such a tart and ride the thing!! :lol: If you ride it every day it'll soon turn to mush again anyway!! :D

But if you really want to get an interim bike, does it really matter what it is, just pick something up that is cheap ... surely get as good a bike as you can for whatever you are prepared to spend ... it matters not what it actually is ...

p.s. Suzy needs her water pump housing spraying ;)

im in doors is doin the work, so its all at once or not at all. In between work uni and other stuff. If its not finished in time for france his mrs won't be pleased. I don't want 2 of em hovis. my boss was thinkin of a revere 600 thingy to tie me over til suzy comes back

Cheap, and should last if you don't thrash it.

Or GS 500, same again, but these bikes could be a pain to move on, perhaps better going for a 125 (4 straoke) that you can quickly flog on when you're finished.
