Fitting a rear hugger advice needed!
 

Any ideas what I need and how to do it?

Does it use the existing fittings from the chain guard etc?

it is second-hand and in great condition just fitting it now hopefully.

Remove the old chain guard using a screwdriver (crosshead).

Remove the crap flap as i've heard it called under the tool box using an 8mm socket i think, maybe 10mm :confused:, one of the two.

Remove the allenkey screw holding the brakeline bracket on, keep screw will need to put back in when the huggers in place. (if it's not oem, the bracket might not fit and then you can cut it off or bend it to fit)

Roll hugger over the wheel into place, replace the crosshead screws that were holding the chainguard on with the allenkey screws that should have been supplied. If not just use the crossheads, makes no difference. Don't tighten them all up yet though!!

Bolt the hugger in place loosely under the tool box!

Replace the allenkey screw for the brakeline, check theres an equal gap both sides of the tyre, and when happy tighten up and jobs done.:drink:

One of the side crossheads has rounded off!!!!

Drill it out with a small metal drill bit, 3 or 4mm maybe. Or get a srew removal drill piece and use you drill in reverse to get it out. Orrrr it your really careful, use a hacksaw and cut a deep enough cut for a flat head screw driver to undo it, i've done that at work many a time, use some wd40 to loosen it up though!! :eek:

Impact driver is just a socket with only 6 sides (the black ones). They grip better than the 12-side normal sockets. I wouldn't have thought the bolts would be that tight, you could try a set of molegrips?

Hmm, oh yeah they're screws not bolts. Hovis' impact driver comment got me! I'd try cutting anotherline with a hacksaw, or perhaps if it's not too rounded off try a bigger crosspoint screwdriver, unless it is already as big as will fit?
