I need to remove mine, I new it was going to be difficult but these are impossable.
So advice please, how do you do it?

THreadlock can be defeated with heat... But you've got to be careful not to cause damage, I've got a powerful soldering iron that's good for this.

If you've got a good set of allen keys (or at least a good 6mm hex) then what I do is to stick it in the nut and place a tube (hollow wheel spindles work good for this) over the allen key.

Then as you put pressure (slow but firm) on the makeshift lever (spindle or whatever you use) Tap the back of the allen key with a hammer directed down into the nut.

Should work out a charm,

But make sure your allen key is up to it!!

;)

Never had any trouble with mine. I used a 6mm allen socket on a t-bar.

You bring your bike to your brothers house and he will show you how. Or you could give him a call and he could explain. :-)

As daft as it sounds, tighten them first to crack the locktite.

Promise you - it does work.

Possibly, but also running the risk of either rounding off the Alan Key or even worse rounding off the bolt head.

He's talking about just cracking them, does work you can also sometimes get away with a sharp (not to hard) hammer blow as well to do the same thing.

I did this on my Trumpet and it did work. I had twisted an allen key beyond recognition before that!!

Other ideas noted above e.g tapping the allen key with a hammer was also adopted and proved a good help along with using an extended lever.

Trouble with allen bolts and keys they seem so easy to strip and b*gg*r up!

Good luck :D
