Ant hill removal

Whilst mowing the lawn yesterday, I found I have a load (10-12) anthills in the garden. Does anyone have any recommendations as to how to get rid of them?
I'd bought a couple of these little poison things which apparently the ants would carry into their home and it'd kill everything in it, but they proved useless.

Many thanks

I rather like that idea. Not sure the current Mrs Woodman would, but it's certainly worth considering.

Mr.Woodman...maybe you try old Spanish method?

Pour 1 bottle whisky on ground near anthill.

Wait 1 hour and then pour maybe 1 kilo of sand on ground also near anthill.

it work like this:

Ants will like sweet taste of whisky and will drink all up.

When alcohol begin take affect, ants wanting to be fighting. They use grains of sand as rocks to throw at each other.

I hoping this being of help.

Peppermint. They hate it apparantly.

Pedrosa, you crack me up!!

I'd go with the hot water method. Not guranteed, but also isn't going to feck up your lawn by using pesticides.

They do generally get the hint & move on, just hope that they aren't fire ants when you start pouring that water ;) :lol
