hawes and kirkby lonsdale - monday

Ooops!

I was plannng on going to kirkby lonsdale with my wife and sister in law on Monday. But had a little accident at work yesterday (put a cup in the microwave to warm some milk and accidentally used a non microwavable cup. so after 2 minutes the milk was cold and the cup was so hot when i picked it up my skin swizzled like bacon on a really hot pan.) :smt013

Fortunatly I put it under the tap within seconds but the cup did stick to my hand. anyway the blisters on three fingers and my thumb have started to stop growing now and hopefully I will have recovered enough to be able to ride my bike by the weekend.

Anyone from here going to be at either place? If so look out for me on my blue pointy and my brother in law on his gsxr both two up no doubt.

So glad I kept my hand under the water for about 1 and a half hours, otherwise I would probably be looking at hospital food. Also told that these cups can explode when you touch them after microwaving them. So heaven knows why work still has some in the cupboard.

You should still seek medical attention for that mate - especially if the cup actually 'stuck' to you hand :!:

That will deffo be more than a 'domestic' burn/scald :!:

Yeah. I have seen worse but for now the skin is sealed and the pads of my hand didnt come out too badly. only bit that did was the back of my ring finger which i lifted the bottom of the handle with. if the blister starts to change colour or anything then I shall get it looked at but its safe for now. Done first aid since about 9 so seen a few hospital trip stuff. hehe.

you riding on monday?

we usually do that run...
we come from darwen so we go through gisburn way to it.

we go from gisburn along the twisty to the main round about thats just under the bridge then go to settle, then from there to hawes then from hawes to the bridge.... its a brilliant run, a mix of twisties, straights and airborn humps... highly recommended run for any one at any level of riding.

we are going from bradford and heading through to my brother in laws in thorton. Not confirmed a time yet as my hand is still a bit of a mess. Gonna take tomorrow off work again as typing all day is a bit of a pain!

Don't, ahem, wish to rain on your parade, but have you seen the forecast for Monday?

I was gonna go out but decided to open the shop instead as the forecast is for cats and dogs.....

Hope I'm wrong but....

Sunday is meant to be bad but monday is sunshine and showers apparently. Saturday is down to be great too! Good job I have a BBQ on saturday to go to.

Anyway we shall see.
