wrong size tyre fitted
had a new front pilot road tyre fitted to my sv 650 in a motor cycle dealers shop last week. They made a mistake and put a 120/70 instead of a 120/60 I did not check the size of the tyre , went for two rides on the weekend done 100 miles slow in the wet saturday no problems. Sunday done 60 miles after about 50 miles of motorway riding started to hear a noise at the front end I had been travelling of speeds up to 100 miles an hour.Stopped an checked everyhting looked alright went very slow the rest of the way home could not hear the noise then , the brakes and handling was fine at the low speed I was then doing to get home . The dealer rang me the next day realised they put the wrong size tyre on having it changed this week . would the wrong size tryre cause any damage would the noise I heard been the bigger tyre getting hot and rubbing when expanding

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppppp baaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggg bd bd bd bd bd bd fshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh oink!
Does that help? I know that a few people on there run 120/70 as they find it more stable etc etc, so i dont think there is any issues with a 120/70. However, it does fill the fender a bit more. You have got something stuck to the underneath of the feder, like a crisp packet, small child, furry creature or something silly? |

:D
I was wandering if it was the speedo rotor playing up. I've had two break after I've had a new front tyre fitted. Both times I got strange swooshing / squealing noise coming from the front end of the bike. |
Re: wrong size tyre fitted
If you've got a fender extender, I hear they can foul the tyre. No 2 different 120/70s are exactly the same, but most ought to fit, I hear Pilot Races don't but, could be rubbish that. Any rubbing should be visible, I'd expect...
