london to weegie-land...route advice needed
evening all,
i got to get meself up to glasgow on friday and plan a wee tour over sunday/monday on the way back. way up i plan to go m40 then hit the m6 (using toll road) then up via carlisle to weegie land. i'm presuming this is the easiest way, i've done it a few times in a car before so i am reasonably familiar with it. the way back is where i'm struggling to decide.....do i go back down the east coast or do i pay the taffs a visit? i'd rather avoid brunstrom's patch so maybe south wales would be better. oh, and any long distance tips for a relative motorway novice? (longest trip to date is 80 miles.....chilly jock land is 400 odd away) |

done it a few times. do m25, m42, m40 (or other way round, can never remember) M6 toll, when you get to carlisle or southwaite services, its 2 hours away. then M73 M74, M8 and you have arrived. we are having a rideout on sunday if you fancy it. leaving balloch which is M8 erskine bridge, A82, balloch at 10 am.

cheers kitkat,
where's the rideout heading? i'd be thinking of heading south or east rather than oop north though. |
