Re: Nice Day Today Going Out:) Any1 wanna join?
Suggest you modify route, use a59 to Ribchester then go via hurst green to Slaidburn, then skirt side of stocks reservoir for fabulous views and drop down to a65 near to clapham. then onto Devils.
On your return down from Shap, back to devils then over quernmoore, to Oakenclogh and then upto Longridge and pick up the m6 at jct 31A |

Re: Nice Day Today Going Out:) Any1 wanna join?
Not quite there on your route as it takes you through ribchester.
Once you cross the river, take the first right, I think it is called Gallows Lane. It saves you squeezing through the village and the crawl almost to longridge. For the nice photo bit. try to get a shot of stonyhurst college in the background at hurst green. Tea/coffee and carrot cake is compulsory in slaidburn (Ask Bluepete) when you come out up the hill, very sharp left hander. About 4 miles out of slaidburn you turn left down past stocks reservoir. This road is single carriageway but fun, in good condition and takes you over the tops. Views are very good. On your way back quernmoore is a good set of roads. Again going over to Oakenclough, good views of the morecambe bay area. once at Oakenclough you can go either of two ways the short one is direct to Longridge via claughton on brock. Or to skirt the side of Chipping then head back toward Ribchester over Jeffrey Hill. Reason for not coming. Back in Salford last night. I am getting the taste for Mr Holt's finest bitter, My nose is developing nicely. Still no arguing last night. But way too much to drive/ride BTW, the route over to Clapham, takes you almost to the site for the AR07 at DalesBridge. And is my suggested route for people to get there. I would appreciate your feedback as I am trying to put people off the A59/A65 route and to take in some nice Lancashire scenary. (OH and the bit when they get into that other place) |

Re: Nice Day Today Going Out:) Any1 wanna join?
Do you want that extra stripe if that moves you up the list for a shift in foreign parts?.
Personally if I were in your boots, I would keep my head down, work hard and make myself indispensable on the current job. Nice to go home to a wife/kids at the end of the day |
Re: Nice Day Today Going Out:) Any1 wanna join?

Re: Nice Day Today Going Out:) Any1 wanna join?
just back and cheers Tim for the suggestions :) I followed them as much as possible but at some point the roads were getting a bit complicated to follow on a map so I just went from village to village through very nice country lanes!
here is a pic as well :) http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/4667/sc6502wb9.th.jpg |
