Average Speed on TT(different question)
This is not the same as the other thread that was posted, that is asking the average speed the SV would go round the TT.
My question is how is the TT Average speed worked out? |
Re: Average Speed on TT(different question)
Maths... take the time, and distance...gives you the average speed. Or did I miss something there.

Re: Average Speed on TT(different question)
60 (minutes) times D (distance) equals S (Speed) times T (time). The other speed time and distance formulas are derived from this formula.
60 D = S T Note 1Time 60 D = T S Speed 60 D = S T Distance D = ST 60 If your speed is expressed in kilometres per hour, your distance will need to be in kilometres. If your speed is expressed in miles per hour, your distance will need to be in miles. Note 2 Dead Reckoning calculations do not take into consideration set, drift and other variables that may affect your travel. |
Re: Average Speed on TT(different question)
Yes, average speed = distance / time
eg 127 miles in 168 minutes would be 0.755952 miles per minute. multiply by 60 for mph = 45.4mph edit, Grinch beat me to it |
Re: Average Speed on TT(different question)
Wohoo I've broken the 130 mph barrier on TT superbikes then lol :D
130.5 mph = 37.733 / 17 m 21 s :D :rave: |
Re: Average Speed on TT(different question)
Quote:
17mins21sec=17.35mins, which works out as an average speed of approx 130.5mph. |
Re: Average Speed on TT(different question)
Aha yes silly me lol

Re: Average Speed on TT(different question)
I hate that minutes aren't decimal lol
It should be 100 minutes an hour and ten hours a day! We could ride around at 100 mph then which would really be about 40mph... :) |
