Basically with the amount of us lot in here i'm sure we could all benefit from knowing what we do for a living and what bike stuff we do so for guidance and advice.

Electrician as a trade.

And let's just say if you want some info on doing your tax return and tax codes / rebates give me a shout - yes that's right i'm a dreaded TAXMAN. ha ha.

Bikes - apart from the usual stuff, oil etc.. i got myself an abba bike stand and took the wheels off and bought new tyres online and refitted em myself last year using the haynes manual - so i have the right tools for a K3 650s to do this if anyone wants a loan of em. (eg. pop through in the car - get the job done)

Can now do the electrics eg. Starting circuit. and seeing how thats difficult to suss out i could easily fault find most of it now.

Want to do - brakes (new pads) and i have some goodridge lines to put on this summer so any tips and even help would be appreciated.

Going to learn how to carbtune.

I thought it may help each other with a few headaches and get some free advice and also have a pool of knowledge and tools.

I wondered how long until this went on the site as a whole ;)

Personally, I can do most simple stuff. Oil/filters etc. Done my own pads before now, got a MityVac just for that (and used it to bleed my house boiler!!).

I've had wheels off & have paddock stands. I can cope with most re-wiring jobs. Got a carbtune & know how to do pointy throttle body sync's.

I've done valve checks but not adjusts. I've got pretty much all the tools to do all the above work.

Work wise, if you want an application writing in Java, that's what I'm paid to do. No? Didn't think so. ;)

Now a plumber previously an hgv driver and forklift driver

as for bike stuff well i've done an engine swap, so can do most things from there downwards

Well I'm a mechanical design engineer (at least that's what they pay me for) ;)

I normall do all the basic stuff now but back in the day (say 1984 so shows my age) I would take on most things like top end work, not bottom end (too many bits and pieces to loose and too complicated). I'm pretty confident with chassis and suspension stuff as a follow your nose sort and all around nuts and bolts stuff. I would say now I could rate myself as a Haynes "2-3 spanner" rating with no formal mechanics quallifications.

Product design student, 4th year. also training as a structural engineer. any drawing using most cad programs, 2d or 3d i can do. also any design work, and some manufacturing when i can get the chance to get into the workshop.

mechanics wise - pretty much anything. both 2 strokes and 4 strokes. only thing which i dont like to do is the gearbox. had some bad experiances with gearboxes. everything else is a doddle.

I'm a student/paintballing marshal.

Bikes, I'll play with everything. Can do oil, filters, sparks, brake pads, chains, exhaust cans, brake calliper strip/clean/rebuild, carb strip/clean/rebuild (not tried an sv one though) and also fit frilly bits like lowers etc.

muzikill, as I thought, my p60 still isn't through, My boss has prommised to sort it out every week for the past 3 weeks, and still nothing, what should I do?

PS, I could have done with a Mityvac when I fitted my Goodridge hoses last week.

i am a full time student but i work as an aircraft mechanic in the summer

Im a dab hand with most things. My specialities are scotoilers, and brakes.
