Help and tips appreciated
Hey there.
I wondering if anyone has any tips or advice as to rebuilding My SV. Had a tank slapper last saturday and both me and the bike went down. I manged to get her off the road and onto some grass so damage isn't too bad. It's mainly cosmetic, fairing, screen, brake lever and such. Frame and forks are fine. Advice would help. |
Re: Help and tips appreciated
Whack the credit card out first son, order your bits that you need. The SV isn't too difficult to rebuild. You might want to ask on here for some bits though as people can sometimes have bits lying around.

Ebay is your new friend :) That'll sort you easily for levers & screen. Fairing could be expensive, plastic welding may be a better approach?

Check the For Sale section on this forum for parts, and ebay.
Fowlers.co.uk, svspares.com and there's a few other sites I can't remember right now. Fairing WILL be expensive to replace, screen, treat yourself to a fancy Double Bubble, brake levers can be expensive too, depending on the model of your bike. |
Re: Help and tips appreciated
O yer forgot to say i have a clear screen if you want it £10 + p&p

Cheers.
I have an original clear screen at home. Smashed the double bubble that I'd fitted to it. The main thing I'm struggling to find is a rear brake lever. That bit is still attached but badly bent. Am thinking about replacing it. But I work for an engineering company so don't know whether to heat it and straighten it. Also trying to decide whilst rebuilding it whether to supe it up a bit to. |
Re: Help and tips appreciated
yer mate you could possibly do that because it is 60 odd quid for a new one, i've been riding round for about a month maybe more with just the arm to the brake lever, no bit that sticks out for your foot.

Re: Help and tips appreciated
I found a pair foot levers, brand new on bandit mania, there anodised silver and £42.
I want to see if I can get a used one as I'm saving money for the fairing |
