Sv650 K6
i have a straight through exhaust which has been on there a while now but I belive I am supposed to get a ecu upgrade or something. Chap at the garage said it was a Piggy back system. anyone know what this is called and where I can get one from to stop the bike running lean etc. at the mo. I am getting flames (well spitting) when I de-ccelerate with the engine and it is making it even more obvious that it is illegal - cheers

Flames? Mucho coolness!
You can get the stock ECU remapped if you take it to somewhere with a Dyno & the right software. The 'piggy back' idea would be to stick something like a Power Commander in there, and will cost a lot more than an ECU remap IMO. |
Re: Sv650 K6
I had the same with mine... let me guess... when engine-braking between 5-3k revs you get a few barbles, then 'pop' 'pop' 'pop' 'BANG!' ;)
Sounds and looks great but isn't too good for the bike in the long term. (Although was great with my twin cans seeing a blue flame alternate between each can a few times, followed by a foot long yellow flame and a 'crack' :D I went to my nearest bike place that do Dyno adjustment (Rhencullen) and for £70 they could adjust the air/fuel mixture throughout the rev range by 10%. (I think they called it a 'Yoshi' adjustment? Could be wrong...) This put the air/fuel mix into acceptable allowances where it now very rarely pops, and on odd occasions bangs (one in 10 journeys maybe?). I also had a dyno print-out with this too. It was either that... for £400 for a spot on Power-Commander including the set-up, I'm more than happy with it as it is :p |
Re: Sv650 K6
how can i find my nearest dyno place then matey?
May not stick with the same exhaust though as want to get a custom job done - like the new gsx-r |
