I took my punctured back wheel (loose, not on bike) in to Scooter Planet in Finchley this morning to get the puncture fixed. went back to pick it up, SP: "that'll be £68 please sir", me: "you're having a laugh, I'm not paying that. I could buy 1/2 a new tyre for that"

they said it took over half an hour so they've charged me for an hour's labour. me: "you've got to be kidding". they offer to just charge for for 1/2 hour's labour, £38 total. me: "I'm still not paying that". next thing they say is that they charge 1/2 hour's labour minimum. they didn't say that to me when I dropped the wheel in. let's have a look at the job sheet .. 10:05--10:35 .. that's 1/2 hour, why've you charged me for an hour? umm. me "1/2 hour's still too long, I'm not paying nearly £40, I wouldn't have brought my business here if I'd know that stupid price & 1/2 hour minimum labour". I finally got them down to £20 on the basis that they should have told me about the 1/2 hour minimum. the fraudulent up-charging on 1/2 hour to an hour wasn't mentioned

soooo. I don't use Scooter Planet very often - usually only when enough time has elapsed that I've forgotten about my last abysmal expience with them - but once again, they've excel themselves with quite appalling customer service. I shall refer myself to this thread the next time I'm contemplating useing them

Next time, call The Cavalry - 0800 956 7594 or 07974 260 311. They'll come out and fix your tyre. I used them as people on here had recommended them. Can't remember what it cost, but it wasn't that much.

Call me old fashioned but I always get a price before letting the work comence.
Sorry to hear about the conflict but hopefully you will have learned from this.

my tyre fitter does it for a tenner, thats with the wheel on the bike.
