Holiday in America-where do I get sat nav maps?

Going on a mini tour on a big fat Harley soon and have borrowed a Garmin nuvi 300 sat nav. Am trying to find maps for it on the net but I'm a bit confused with all the different types and also the price. Anyone got one I can borrow? He he he. Or can anyone advise me on what I need and where to get it? As we'll only be on the road for 8 days I'll have to see if it's worth it.

:)

If you know of TORRENTS, then goto TORRENTREACTOR.NET.
There's quite a few maps on there for Garmin, just make sure you virus check before using the maps.
Otherwise sorry cannot help you.

Had an e-mail back from Garmin this morning. £179.99 for the maps on an SD card! Must be gold plated. No chance am I paying that, I think it's ridiculous. I think they should charge per state for the U.S. and make them downloadable from their own website.

Sorry my bad :-dd , wasn't per state but area which makes it a bit cheaper, but was still £145 for 7 states in the NW :( To cover the rest of the USA needed 4 more discs
