steering damper
 
has anyone put a damper on there sv and if so what brand would you recommend i can afford a scotts or a gpr but as far as the rod style goes do you know who makes a kit i have seen shindy dampers but no specific kit for the bike so any advice would be welcome

Not needed on an SV, save your money and spend it elsewhere, suspension, brakes etc;)

thats not the question i asked i ride on some really poor roads that crest weired and a lot of head shake is encountered due to the roads

If you are going for one then the GPR is better than a rod damper as its more consistant due to the design.

Easy to adjust whilst riding too.

Not tried the Scotts but it looks pretty similar to the GPR.

My point being that £250 or so spent on a damper would be better invested sorting the forks giving them better control to cope over less than ideal roads. improving the overall ride and negating the need for a damper.
