The O2 arena
Over the weekend I was in London for the O2 preview event for O2 employees and I must say that O2 did a fairly good job.
We had a coach down to London and the Hotel was the Grange Holbourn ( 5star ). Free underground tickets got us to the arena ( the exit/entrance of the tube being extremely close to the O2 entrance ) and a free meal. The entertainment consisted of a small show called INDIGO2 ( situated in a small theatre ), a cinema and the main arena. The lineup for the event was done to entertain a large group of people with different tastes: Tom Jones, Kaiser Chiefs, Peter Kay, Basement Jaxx and was hosted by Dermot O'leary. The arena has changed quite alot and from what many people have said it has massively improved. The main arena looked good with the stage having a walkway shaped in the O2. The outer ring has plenty of places to eat and drink with toilets in abundance ( especially considering there was 17,000 O2 employees ). The bad news for the place is that the food and drink is very expensive ( no surprise really being London and an entertainment arena ) and it was totally unfinished with about half of the outer ring still under construction. Over all I was extremely happy with the event, a lot of people have worked hard to make it happen smoothly and I personally believe they were successful. My wife and I enjoyed the whole experience and we even managed to have a look around London. So O2 thank you for a great free weekend. |
Re: The O2 arena
We are off to see Prince in September.
Any idea what time the tube runs until? I am presuming until at least after the concert, but hey, you never know.... |
Re: The O2 arena
My girlfriend used to work for o2 in the greenhouse at Preston Brook.
Im looking forward to seeing the new cinema on the 5th July to see Die hard 4 :) |
Re: The O2 arena
Preston brook is where my wife works, as for the trains I cannot say what time they will stop running but over the weekend they had trains running upto midnight to get everyone back to their hotels. I would check with the O2 arena or the Tube underground before departing to the concert. There is however taxis available close by.
