Making your own rear hugger
Ok it's about time i attempted this as im getting fed up with the cr*p that gets thrown up and tbh the price a hugger is is atrocious so i thought i could make one out of sheet metal!
Any metal workers out there who want to pitch in with design idea's give me a shout! options so far .... 1.Short but wider 'splash' barrier that replaces the small plastic one that is bolted to the swingarm giving more protection 2.Longer version that arches at at the same angle as the seat subframe and hugs close to the undertray there by protecting the standard undertray approx under where the electrics are but matching the 'pointy' k3 look of the bike 3 A 2 part version that is fixed to the undertray but drops just in front of version 1 as above therefore giving full protection but leaving the back wheel 'naked' 4 A long version of 1. but hugging closer to the back wheel but still designed from a 'pointy' view with the tail end either curved or 'pointy' |
Re: Making your own rear hugger
Can you roughly sketch your ideas onto a photo maybe?

Re: Making your own rear hugger
Cut a chunk of old bald car tyre and jubilee clip it in place to the swingarm...works for my housemate's FZ400 rat-bike.
