180 miles and no fuel light...
I'd just passed the petrol station in Braemar while taking the scenic route from Ullapool to Glasgow, having covered about 180 miles since the last fill up but determined not to stop until I needed fuel when I thought:
"Oh wait, I've seen this episode, the muppet runs out of gas in the middle of nowhere because the fuel warning light isn't working. Hilarious!" But no! The light came on shortly after so I pressed on, taking the £1.04 per litre option at 198 miles rather than the (possible) 97p option at 224 miles. Brim to the top, 13 litres! That's 68mpg in old money and a 260 mile range!! Boy I'm getting old. |
Re: 180 miles and no fuel light...

Used to get a regular 170 on the Curvy before the light came on.. as long as i was behaving ;)
On the other hand... Had the light come on at 85 miles before! :smt107 |

Re: 180 miles and no fuel light...
Quite often I go to 150 light flashes 170 light stays on. That's not riding hard but certainly not like a grandad.

Good to know that you can stay off the major routes without having petrol panic though. Another thumbs up for the SV  |
Re: 180 miles and no fuel light...
i thouhgh the tank held 17 litres?
edit......... it holds 16 litres, so when you put 13 in you still had 3 litres in the tank? |
