the noo bandit

In mcn a fully faired bandit 650. Going to be the new teapot. Looks OK but god knows who will buy it.

I think Suzuki shot themselves in the foot with the new bandits. The 1250 is only a grand more than the 650 and the 650 is far too expensive.

Do you know where I can find sales figures for the new bikes?

I'm looking to get one of these in the future and is waiting for the prices to go down.

Yeah, curious marketing position. The old bandit ticked both the "cheap commuter" and the "bad boy looks hooligan bike" boxes. The new one just seems to tick the old GSX teapot box ("substitute if you've lost your jelly mould"). Not sure what they're trying to compete with? (EDIT: ) the old RF600 seemed far better looking if they're going after the "fully faired but slightly tame do anything for anyone" box.

Just searched google for this, how very odd - it's a squashed and slightly tame looking GSX-R!

Haven't Suzuki got enough bikes in the 600cc (give or take 50cc) category?

GSX-R600
Bandit 650
Bandit 650S
V-Strom 650 (including Touring, GT and X, whatever they may be)
SV650S
SV650Sport
SV650
GSR600

and now GSX650F! (OK so some of the above are faired/half-faired/naked variants of the same bike) They're just being greedy.

Hmm, not sure about this. Sort of looks like a Gixxer due to the headlight etc bt also reminds me of a bigger faired GS500. Which is no good thing. Would have to see it in the flesh before I made up my mind.

The GSF1250 is out selling demand at present..just cant get enough of them.

Our orders for the new 650 have also exceeded previous sales of the old style 650.

All these have different markets in mind:

GSX-R600 - sports
Bandit 650 - commuter/new rider
Bandit 650S - as above but more wind protection
V-Strom 650 - touring/commuter ideal for the taller person
SV650S - new rider/fun/sports touring
SV650Sport -as above
SV650 - as above
GSR600 - street bike but hasnt sold that well.

I'd been wondering that about the GSR, seemed a decent package but I've only ever seen them in dealerships, not actually on the street. In fact, I think the local Suzuki dealership still has the very first one they got in on the forecourt.

I quite liked it, but i would have to see it in the flesh first. If they made a 1250 version based around the 1250 bandit then i would but it.

I will take a look when it comes out. I would change the exhaust straight away, that would improve its looks no end!

My worthless opinion is that no one in their right mind would consider any version of the Bandit today when they have the excellent GSR to opt for.

Edit: Over here in the land of sangria the GSR is a massive seller.

One reason I think being is that they're easier to work on than the GSR's.

Plus they're cheap to buy and cheap to insure.
