Fuel tank prices

Hello there, I bought my sv650s '99 model a couple of months ago, and almost immediately found it was leaking petrol on the underside. I repaired it with POR15, which has held where the repair patches were, but the damn thing is now leaking through pinholes on the outside of the tank, so even if I repaired it again (not tempting) it would look awful. I've got an offer of a mint used tank for 145+vat. Do you folks think that's reasonable? The bike is flat red in colour.

J.

P.S. This is my first post, so, hello everyone!

Cheers lylej, I think I will, only problem is that its in Doncaster, but I'll just have to take the postage on the chin. I asked a dealer for a new price, the response was basically "fsssshchhsshhsschsh, well, that's very expensive, many, many pounds young lad, they come from an exotic land far away and are made of pure polonium 210". (I may have embellished that somewhat, but you get the point).

well i was happy to get 50 quid for mine which was in good condition, not mint as i actually use my bike rather than just polish it. for the sort of money your talking about getting that 'minter' for you could easily get a second hank curvy tank in any colour and then get it sprayed with some funky graphic and it would still cost you less.
