What is the registration code?
 

i am selling a GSXR and in the MCN website, its asking for the registration and gives me a drop down list of letters or number groups.
I don't know what this is! (forgive me, i'm a foreigner)

i have not got the green keepers information from the DVLA yet as i only bought the bike for a friend while he was here and now i am selling it again, cause we have had fun and he's gone home, but i can't finish the add till i know what that is.

can someone please explain? this is so different from the australian system of registration.

and if this is the rego plate details, why can't i put the whole number/letters in?

Is that ok? It's an odd system!

Oh - letter based system is the first letter of the plate, numbers are the third and fourth number..

I think you mean the prefix letter on the number plate which shows the year it was registered,eg W was 99-2000 X was 2000-2001and so on.After Y it went to O1 or 51, 02 or52 and so on.Are you following this as I shall be asking detailed questions later?:D


The other problem is that you will have trouble selling it if there is no V5 with it.One of the basic buyers rules is check the paperwork,so that could put someone off if it's not there.

Just perused the ads section of MCN.

I reckon you don't need to fill in the Registration number. Only the questions with red * are compulsory.

Try doing the ad leaving that bit blank.
