diy... candy grand blue...is it do able

jsut got some damaged lowers for my candy grand blue curvy...

they need repainting...

i know the colour is candy grand blue and apparently the paint code is yc2..

ive also heard that it is not a paint but a silver base with blue top coat...

what i want to know is is it reasonable and where would i get a can made up and spray them myself....has anyone ever done it..

or will it look ****e...

if so ...who can sparay them in the northwest and what should i expect to pay.

cheers

I tried touching my Candy Napoleon bike up with touch up. Same principle sliver base coat and thin blue covering. It looked cacked.

Personally I would get it professionally done.

so you cant get a simple metalic paint that matches....i can imagine doing a silver base with blue top wil be hard...

ive done some spraying myself and always struggle getting a good laquer on it.....

ive had my lammy sparyed by a pro / mate (ish) at a very good price.....any idea how much the paint would cost if i got him to do it.....

i dont want to get into silly money here as im selling the bike soon for a 1000...

even thinking of painting a metalic silver fat stripe in middle of lowers as thats where all the dammage is....ive done a quick photoshop from a pic i just taken with the damaged fairings on my bike .... to give an idea....what do you think...have anyone seen a bike with something similar....

or does it look like ****e and im just wasting my time...may be worth a go for the sake of a tenner or son on paint..

I had my entire right lower fairing resprayed after a ground-bike interface! Pro Fuse in Leigh. Top job, about £100. I don't have the number, but of you call ESB Bikes on 01204 535443, they have it.
I did do the small scuffs on the side of the headlight bit myself, bought a cheap airbrush and paint on e-bay. Not a bad job, you have to look really hard to see the repair.

If you're selling soon, why not just leave the lowers off? :smt104

suppose soon was the wrong word..gonna exchange early next year...wanna get the fairings on my bike looking as good as poss for minimum cash.

if i could get both painted for £100 then id prob do it but not going to pay £100 each...

may get a price from them..

cheers

Even professional sprayers sometimes get the candies wrong, that's why I did all of mine in a solid metallic rather than do the 3 panels that needed it. You could get an exact colourmatch solid, but it won't catch the light the same, there's more to paint than colour.

PS, speak to Big Al ;)
