My First Downer

Yup today i had my first accident.
In the ****ing rain, i was breaking, locked back wheel, spun bike round, fliped onto me.

Fortunatly i was only doing about 5mph at the time.

Still shook me up.

No serious injuries except some lovely bruises and a very sore leg.

Bike = smashed mirror, scratched break lever, general scratches.

To be honest it reli scared me, but its taught me a very good lesson, i reckon is was a judgement mistake, i didnt judge the breaking distance properly because of the rain.

Glad you got away with it, 5mph crashes can still hurt alot though!!!

I nearly dropped the bike the other day - in the dry. Braking hard filtering on a white line. Even when dry, they are slippery. How i didnt drop the locked front I dont know...

Bad luck,but it's easily done.
I always say that any incident like this that you get up and walk away from is something you learn from. Not all negative then.

Glad you're ok...like you said...it will have taught you a lesson and it's far better to have learn't it at 5mph rather than at speed. You've obviously thought about why it happened and how to avoid a similar experience.

A similar thing happened to me on my training a couple of weeks ago but I was going round a corner and nearly slid into an oncoming car. Shook me up a bit but I'm getting my confidence back for cornering now.

Hopefully your leg will feel better soon! I've only just got rid of my bruises...my legs have been in such a state since I started mucking around with bikes, they haven't seen sunlight yet this year lol :D

As others have said, as long as you learn from it chalk it up to experience.

Good to hear you and the bike are ok :)
