My SV650 Sport test ride
 

Firstly, my thanks to the hospitality of the Soho MaHUssive when I met them on Friday night. Strange to leave Soho sober...

OK, the Sport is not the bike for me. Within 20m I had to stop, stand up, and stretch out the cramp in my right leg. Back on the bike I left Leatherhead (Steve Jordan bikes) and headed south in search of sunlight. I admit now, I was nervous riding a bike with this riding position when I am used to being bolt upright, and the wet conditions weren't helping confidence.

However, my attitude improved with the weather as I crossed the North Downs. I love the engine, hands down:smt057 . The demo had a stock pipe on which was a bit disappointing, but easily remedied. Gradually, I got a bit more comfortable (psychologically only) with the bike and really enjoyed my one hour ride down the A24 to Horsham and back up the A29.

Having tasted the SV apple I can say I definitely want one, but a naked (red or black pls) is the way forward for me. I have a big Euro work trip to ride to in late August/early September, and that is all booked on my current bike. Come mid September there'll be a 2004 BMW Dakar up for sale - proceeds to be reinvested in a SV N either immediately (2nd hand), or see if Suzuki offers 0% on K7 next year...
