jack up plates

been told that if i jack the back end of my sv650s it will give better handling,if this is true is it worth jacking it up or does it not make that much of a difference.

I jacked the rear end up by two inches on my K3 pointy ,and has made turning into corners alot quicker, but beware.... on hard acceleration the front end gets twichy quite easily...

I inherited ajackup on the black one..its ok if your 10 feet tall..took it off straight away and refitted an original set..compared to suzy it was way too sharp in corners..not my cup of tea at all

Yep, jacking it up will put a bit more pressure on the suspension, the reason the SV has such conservative geometry is to avoid the budget suspension causing instability IMO. It really brings out the worst in the rear- when I have my Ohlins out for servicing I fit the standard one but leave all the other bits- lower front, and shorter dogbones- as they are, and it wags the bars at full power in first and second a bit too often for my liking (so, I do it in winter and don't use full power in first and second ;) )

The flipside is that my bike turns faster than I can, which I like- it doesn't stick to a line as well though, because it's so easy to change direction.
