AE Yearly Event Date
 

Hi, haven't made an event yet, but would dearly love to.

My proposal is, that a date is chosen that people can plan for in well in advance. ie: the last weekend in June, the first weekend in July, that sort of thing. That way peeps can look at next years calender now and leave that weekend clear.

Any thoughts?

Thats basically what the plan is, to sort the date well in advance so that people have time to plan things around the weekend so that its as accessible to as many people as possible.

I was hoping to get the date will be sorted once the location is, the date will be something that works for the organising team and one that stays away from major sporting events such as Donnington Moto Gp etc etc.

The plan is to get the Venue Sorting done by September time ish, then use October and November for sorting out the date with the date being annouced by Mid December ish...

What we dont want is to be flooded with "I cant do this weekend" or "I'm not free that weekend" or "I'm on holiday that weekend" kind of posts.

If we've set the date in stone by december then IMHO that gives plenty of time for people to make plans.
