Charity Treasure Hunt, Sunday 12th August

I know this is probably too far for most people, but thought it might appeal to some of the Northampton ones:D

It's an event being run by our bike club, but it's open to anyone who fancies it:D

Treasure Hunt

Event takes place on Sunday the 12th August
Arrival for Tea & Coffee at Robsom Racing (Shipston on Stour) at 9:00am
Instructions & Maps handed out at 9:30am
Head-off 10:00am or earlier if you've worked out the clues and route!
Meet back at Robsom Racing at 4:00pm for BBQ, drink and prizes
Mike & Jane (owners of Robsom Racing for those who don't know) have kindly allowed us to use the unit for the start point, base for the day and for the BBQ.

We have chosen 10 locations within a 30 mile radius from Robsom Racing. If you correctly identify them and take the most direct route to each, the total circuit is approximately 220 miles. Of course, if you don't want to visit all 10 you're more than welcome to choose which places interest you most and have some lunch... we've made sure that there are places to eat and drink close to them all, or you can head back to base. You'll need to have a mobile phone or a digital camera to take a picture of all your teams bikes at each landmark to prove you were there.

Each team will comprise of a maximum of 4 bikes. If you are a new member and have never been out with WMR before or an old member that doesn't really know anyone then please don't be put off... we will ensure that you are teamed up so that you get to know people.

There will be a £10 charge per bike, £4 of which will be taken to purchase food, refreshments and prizes. The remaining £6 and anything left over will be donated to the West Mids Air Ambulance Charity.

Prizes are up for grabs for several different catagories, including 'most imaginative team name' and 'best dressed team and bikes' so don't be shy!!!

Did I ever tell you how good my navigation was?

Andy, surely even you can't get lost within a 30 mile radius?

No of course not!

(Looks at map)

...Actually - I think I probably could but that's not my point...

It says you're supposed to identify and then navigate to places. Now you see my problem. I've followed someone to almost every meet I've been too. And here you'd be asking me to find eleven places in one day.

Not ruling it out but as an event it's not appealing to my strong points* (though "charity mate" as an excuse to bimble about on a bike all day it sounds good)

*Ok I don't have any strong points but what I mean is it would be hitting me at a weak point
