Which replacement bars
If you were gonna replace a standard set of bars on a naked bike, what would you go for and why?
Just looking at Renthals and they do highs, mediums, low, very low, streetfighter (what's that?) and flats. What are the advantages/disadvantages of each, and what would you go for? For me it will be to fit a new Hornet 07, but I think in most cases for naked bikes the changes will be the same. Thanks in advance. Shin |
Re: Which replacement bars
streetfighter bars are almost straight like drag bars i would go for some medium renthals without the crossbar ive seen them with the crossbar on an sv and it looked odd.

Now, you fool, you will need 2, one for each side!!

Re: Which replacement bars
 you's funny.
I was thinking of the flat bars, but have no idea if this would mess the handling up or anything. I would have though, as they are lower, it would put more weight over the front and make it more stable? Is that wrong? |
Re: Which replacement bars
I'd go for low or ultra low, when I was looking to replace mine. In the end I got a cheap pair of bandit bars off ebay but they turn out to be slightly higher than sv ones! Oh well...

Re: Which replacement bars
are the ultra low ones wider (much wider?) than a standard set of bar?
|
Re: Which replacement bars
You can always cut them down.
Mates getting some renthal fat bars! I would say low. At the end of the day, its not an irreverisble mod. |
Re: Which replacement bars
I don't mind the wide option, it's just getting the bike in the tin can after.
ooo Fat bars, haven't thought about them yet.....(goes to find details and pics) |
