Getting rid of wasps.

We were getting double glazing fitted to the house and unfortunately the poor blokes discovered that there's a wasp's nest under the landing window.
Very inconveniently situated - the back door is set out from the house slightly and they have nested under the tiles that form it's little roof bit.

Got to get rid of the beggers before the window folks come back to finish the job.

I had some 'expanding foam' wasp killer that I sprayed into the gaps between the tiles last night - which did leave a satisfying trail of bodies on the tiles this morning  but there's still a few nipping in and out.

Short of reapeating this a few times, any ideas?

OK - any ideas that don't involve me burning the house down or having to call the spare drop ship down from the Sulako...

... I'm saving that for a special occasion. ;)

OK, get down to B&Q and get an aerosol can of wasp nest killer. Works well.

Spray plenty of normal wasp/fly spray in the general area first to kill off any airborne ones before you attack the nest itself.

Then cover the nest with a bin bag and rip it out spraying enough killer to kill an army.

Wrap up well whilst attacking the thing.

We had one under a bedroom floor/over porch. You do have to get at the nest. Spraying the area is not sufficient

Registered bee keeper.

If it's a sizable nest/colony, they'll usually take them away for free.

I called one when we had a "wasps nest" in a bush in the front garden near the gate (kids other than ours play right next to it, so I wanted them gone).

He got there, took one look then laughed "That's no nest, it's moving!" Turns out they weren't building a nest there, they were just resting, keeping the Queen warm, a few days later they left quicker than they arrived.

Send every little blighter an eviction notice, then threaten them with a court order.

Failing all that contact your local Environmental Health Department.
