Deals Gap/Tail of the Dragon
Well, I'm headed to Deals Gap tomorrow morning early. For those that don't know what that is it is THE road. 318 turns in just under 11 miles! Wish me luck! I'll try to post some pictures as soon as I can!
Here is the link to the website! http://www.tailofthedragon.com/ edit: oops, I meant to put this in bike talk...if somebody could help me with that! thanks |

Re: Deals Gap/Tail of the Dragon
After spending hours cleaning and performing general maintenance I get online to check the weather and the forecast has changed...Now it looks like rain and I ain't doing that sh*t in the rain. If I'm going to take 2 hours getting there it's going to be dry d*** it. Hopefully the weather will move on out by the time we get there...

Re: Deals Gap/Tail of the Dragon
Do it in the rain, there will be less traffic and your riding will improve.
Remember, no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. |
Re: Deals Gap/Tail of the Dragon
Be careful! Do not end up decorating the tree

Less traffic would be a plus, but over here we don't get nearly as much rain as you and therefore I don't ride in it unless it sneaks up on me while at work. Just unnecessary danger especially in the mountains were crap washes over the road. I have a cage if I want to go slide around in some water...and I do that a lot too with my more than fun rear-wheel drive redneck mobile! |
Re: Deals Gap/Tail of the Dragon
Deal's Gap is awesome to ride from what I have seen. However very narrow road and lined virtually all of the way by trees.Plus gets full of cars towing caravans! Pah you want to get your ass to the Ronda Road here in southern Spain. No trees, but some glorious canyon drops if you screw up!:D
