I totally agree with what I think you are trying to say.

Something I've wondered about on this subject is if you were to film them doing it, along with their number plate etc. (Obviously while you're being a passenger :-) )

Would the evidence be of any use to the police? It's just something that really winds me up. Form a kind of vigilante (sp?) group???

Re: Car Drivers on Mobile Phones (still)

Its an absolute nightmare, on my commute this morning I was nearly killed by car drivers doing the following:

1. Mobile phone call
2. Mobile phone texting, whilst trying to hide the phone in their lap
3. Changing CD
4. Playing with Sat-Nav
5. Reading a paper???
6. Eating a sandwich
7. Drinking a MUG - yes I siad mug - of tea/coffee
8. Putting on make-up, not me the driver!!
9. Reading a map
10. Playing with the radio
11. Squeezing a spot or something that resembled it
12. Changing lanes without signalling and for no apparent reason
13. Lighting a cigarette
14. Looking at a map

To name but a few............

OK - this is actually more like a weeks worth, but my point is that the drivers have no idea how much their driving is effected by what they are doing and being honest before I drove a bike I had no idea how much of an effect texting or talking had on my driving either.

Until you have seen the roads and drivers from on a bike yourself it is very difficult to envisage what the effects of poor concentration are.

Every car driver as part of their test should have a two hour pillion journey, they would be much better/safer drivers.

You'll love this one. Coming up to traffic lights at the weekend, Young lad in his red fiesta pulls out of his lane without looking into mine 'cos it's got a shorter queue. I slam on the ancors and ask the usuall question as I pull up by his door, "Don't you use your F###ing mirrors mate?" "Er um er um er yeah ok" Then I noticed the the huge cone of a spliff he had in his hand! OMG I let rip at him. I didn't know whether to punch him, take his spliff, take a mirror or take all three:eek:

After loosing my voice at him and getting the attention of everyone in the High street, I carried on down the road and got the attention of Plod on foot. I told him what happened and he pulled the F###wit over and said "Thankyou Sir I'll take it from Here"

Good deed for the day. 1 less F###wit on the road.

I see it every day on the commute. Drivers and phones. Sometimes they get the horn, sometimes they get the boot, it depends what mood I'm in. ;)

Problem is in our county that the police are so overstretched that there is no time to stop these muppets inbetween blatting to different jobs, although some of the local community teams will run some operations to stop this.

If there is an area where this happens a lot (especially at a certain time) ask for a CBO to come round and have a chat about it and ask him or her to organise an operation to target it.

Failing that get the parish council to kick up at the next meeting about it...

OR

enough letters of complaint will p*ss the inspector of that sector off so badly that he will have to do something about it....all aboard for fun times.
