Sidi Vertigo's - maintainence

Someone on here described that you could replace the sliders with metal ones from another boot - any ideas?

Plus the leather tip of em is getting 'raw' any ideas on how i could cover this up or repair it?

No definite answers on the metal sliders, I guess you could see what other boots do a screw on wrap around toe slider and if they have a metal option. Do sidi do the metal version as an accessory? (just had a quick look round and they do a version with ceramic inserts, seen them in the online shop on http://www.earnshaws.net/). You could also try looking on the www.feridax.com in the sidi section, they are the importers.

Re the raw leather, I've always used nikwax products on my leather boots to keep them supple and waterproof the leather. Then a bit of black polish on the raw part would help match the colour on the scuffed part to the rest of the boot. hth.
