Right or wrong?

was meant to post this on Sunday but slipped my mind](*,)

was on my way back from Portsmouth after purchasing some shiny new boots:cool: and was in hedge end industrial estate on the big rounder bout by the new Audi garage (for the benefit of people living in my area) when a Audi convertible (A4 or some new sporty one) pulled out and then right up behind me about 2 foot from the back of me sv as i was going round. i immediately saw him in my mirror and gave him a quick evil stare of my left shoulder (tail gaiters really p!55 me off), then as we left the rounder bout he did it again, by now im really hacked off, over my shoulder again and shouted some abuse, he still continues so again over my should and he is shouting "what! what!" at me so up went the two finger salute and some more abuse, he then pulled up along side me on the wrong side of the road about a foot from the side of me, i jumped on the brakes as my head was about to explode with rage:smt092, the then sped off up the road and cut up 3 people bye now i was livid and was going to give chase and pull him out the car at the traffic lights, surprised me as im never normally this hot headed

ok sorry about the long post and also if it don't make sense, rant over, but was i right?

You were definitely wrong - it is a VW garage (Peter Cooper), not Audi ;) unless you mean the one on the other side of the roundabout, which is Lexus/Toyota ;) :D

You should have just ignored him, would have saved getting all wound up about it.

I dont bother gesturing or retailiating anymore, it just encourages / gives people the excuse to do stupid things. One tap from a car driver could have you rolling around on the floor or worse.

Its just not worth it...

I can understand why you got so mad, but you are never, ever going to win against a car. A really good friend of ours is still recovering from a smashed shoulder blade and six broken ribs he got when he was deliberately run off the road and into an armco barrier by a car driver he had remonstrated with for cutting him up on a roundabout.

yes and no.

imo once you let a driver get under your skin you are wrong...it's "our" job to be better on the road than those in cars in my opinion as we have more to lose...or a higher chance of losing anyway! That also includes sometimes being thicker skinned that we would be normally. If you get a w4nker behind you then either rip away from him or let him past...either way get him the fekk away from you as leaving him to p1ss you off only clouds your judgement, ruins your nice mood and then could potentially spoil your day when it all ends in tears.

Just my opinion though...

yeah thought i was wrong will take this advise will save me life

have put it into practice, was at some road work traffic lights outside of botley tonight, was sat there for about 5 mins when the car behind me shot past nearly running my foot over and straight thought the red light but i kept calm and said "WTF?""

Totally agree though that it would pi$$ you and some people off. I hate being Tailgated. On the whole the traffic over here (NZ) is quieter than in back in England, but Auckland, where I live it is very busy. They undertake too! Bloomin nightmare sometimes! BUT, tailgating is one thing that really hacks me off. Normally a PADDINGTON BEAR STARE , in my mirrors at the car behind makes them back off a little. If not I just slowly slow down and put a bigger gap between me and the car in front, then speed up again then stare at the car behind couple of times of doing that and they ease back. If they are that bothered though they usually get passed and I let them. What would get me peed off though was if they reacted like that 'ham shanker' in the Audi/VW shouting WHAT WHAT?? , what a complete CHAV!.
But as most people have said on here don't let them get at you. Let em pass and enjoy the rest of your ride.

That is tragic and disgraceful, I hope they somehow caught the driver.
