Trip to Wales (image heavy)

Here's some pics of my little break to Llanidloes in Wales back in July:

My trutsy steed:

On the way up, we took a detour & popped into my nan & Grandad' who live in Somerset, Heres some of my Grandads bikes.

We stayed at was an old barn that had been converted into 3 cottages, ran by Jon & Mike, the cottage immaculte & the welcome really friendly.

The barn also had its own little garden.

The first day we went to Aberystwyth & had some ice cream.

Then went to the Animalarium at Borth.

And popped by at Devils bridge (3 bridges built on top of each other ) on the way back to the cottage.

The second day we Hired a small boat & had a trip along the Brecon Canal.

Day 3, we went on a horse trek, over the Brecon Beacons, some of those little tracks are bloody steep & the horses did superb, just taking them in thier stride, while I was sat on its back bricking myself, lol.

Day 4, we went across the Mountain road between Llanidloes & Machynlleth, which was a really nice road.

Day 5, was it had been raining a fair bit, but was good because we went white water rafting at Tryweryn near Bala & the rapids were quite full.

I'm no Gordon Ramsey but I tried my best, lol.

On the Saturday it was time to leave, we went to my Dads who lives in Redditch, it was the first day of the floods & what was supposed to be a 95 mile'ish trip turn into 7½ hour 200 mile trip.

When we got to Malvern we were told by 2 police blocks that we wouldn't be able to get out of the place & would have to find a hotel for the night, to which I replied "well I manganged to get in here, so I'm gonna get out" lol. I went to a garage to buy a local map to see some of the smaller roads & the lady said the same as the cops & to save my money, to which I gave the same reply.

I finaly managed to get get on to the M5 & I was well chuffed, whooping inside my lid & giving meself a pat on the back, lol. Although trip to my Dads, didn't quite go to plan I prefered the way it worked out as it added a bit of adventure, & the SV done me proud on some of the flooded roads it went through.

Got to my Dads & had a well earned Mexican & watched The Worlds Fastest Indian, which is a brilliant film, which I recomend if you haven't seen it. Here's just pic of one of the old bikes my Grandad did up & gave to my Dad. which he now uses as an ornament??

I wish I'd taken some more photo's of the great roads I was riding on but I find it hard to stop & take pic's while I'm riding along.

Thanks for Looking.

So how about that for proof you don't need to cross the water for a holiday.

Just what I was thinking. You look like you crammed plenty into your holiday. Love the bike under the stairs. I wanted to put one of my mountain bikes on brackets above the fire place, but was told that it would look silly ..... spoil sport!!

ps: so where do you hang your coats?
