Great site. Just bought my 99 sv 650 s about a month ago and loving every minute of it. was just wondering if there was anyway of lowerings the rear suspension and if so would handling be affected. In a short lad with even shorter legs and find it impossible to walk the bike backwards if im in a tight spot. The tip-toes just dont have enough grip.

Re: newbie
You could lower the rear, by fitting longer dog bones to the rear suspension, if you have a go with the search function, and search for "dog bones" you should find plenty of stuff on it, by more knowledgable people than me.
Failing that, I find actually getting of the bike and wheeling it backwards is easier sometimes than paddling it. If you get off and put one hand on the bars and then stretch and grab the grab rail with the other its pretty easy to move it about like that. HTH, welcome to the forum. |

Hello mate, and welcome in. Pretty sure a few people here have lowered their SV's, try using the search function. I've got the opposite problem, so if you wanna nick a bit of my height...
