Great site. Just bought my 99 sv 650 s about a month ago and loving every minute of it. was just wondering if there was anyway of lowerings the rear suspension and if so would handling be affected. In a short lad with even shorter legs and find it impossible to walk the bike backwards if im in a tight spot. The tip-toes just dont have enough grip.

You could lower the rear, by fitting longer dog bones to the rear suspension, if you have a go with the search function, and search for "dog bones" you should find plenty of stuff on it, by more knowledgable people than me.

Failing that, I find actually getting of the bike and wheeling it backwards is easier sometimes than paddling it. If you get off and put one hand on the bars and then stretch and grab the grab rail with the other its pretty easy to move it about like that.

:thumbsup:Yes there is if you go on ebay and put in sv there is a guy who does jack up kits and lowering kits about £15.00 delivered and he says 30 mins to fit it took me ten really easy oh and welcome im new my self seems a great site thou

Hello mate, and welcome in. Pretty sure a few people here have lowered their SV's, try using the search function. I've got the opposite problem, so if you wanna nick a bit of my height...

Thanks everyone. Still a bit concerned about the handling issue. Will it be affected much if i do go ahead and lower the back end.

on the advert for my jack up kit it says they help you turn in a bit quicker so i dont think lowering it will make a big difference but thats only my opinion hope this helps
