Thieves on the prowl

Came down to the bike this am - someone has deffo had a look during the night - the cover has been lifted and not put back......

This exact thing happened when my bandit went awol yrs ago.....seeing as they had a nice CBR600RR from this spot two months ago, it could be the same crew again....

What to do ? No i dont have a shotgun, but if anyone wants to come round tonight with one, we might catch us some chavscum and have our selves a linchin' party ....or they are gonna lift my bike (ahem):(

Ground anchor?
Chain it to a neighbours bike?
Fit bicycle alarm to cover so that there's warning when the cover gets lifted?

Almax chain?

Mine is fitted to a ground anchor, 2 chains, 2 disc locks, the cover is chained and alarmed to the bike. Bike is parked under my bedroom window with a PIR security light mounted above it.

Same thing happened to mine on Wednesday night. Came down to my bike on Thursday to find the cover taken right back off the rear of the bike. Had never happened before and it has been the only night in 6 months that I've not had bins surrounding the bike to disguise it.

They would also have noticed that I had only a oxford hardcore padlock on. I reckon they would have come back last night or today to nab it, equipped with a few tools but I'll ALWAYS put my almax chain on it now.

Having said that, some dodgy looking fellar cycled over to me the other day whilst I was working on it and he said lovely bike, we talked about bikes for 25mins or more and he liked the exhaust that was on it (blue flame tri oval). The cover was only removed from the rear of the bike and it now has a crappy s/s oval can on it so I reckon it might have been him.

I'm now paranoid.

Try a Xena alarmed disc lock? I have one, it works very well and has a 100 decibel (or more!) alarm. More alarms, the better

Also, have a chain wrapped around the back wheel and round the rear shock. That would make it hard to move.

Not alot else you can do...maybe back a car up to it so it cant be got too easily?
