Re: is what george white's said right
No they would have PDI'd it before delivering it. I take it yours was an ex demo? Then yes the next service is 600.
I know this for certain as the garage I got my SV from did this service for all parts and labour free. Then the next one is a year or 4000 Miles. I can only think that maybe they did the 600 mile service a tad early and stampeed it up???? |
Re: is what george white's said right
If i remember rightly, 600 miles is the required running in millage before the first service,it has'nt covered that yet. What i would do is continue with the running in process until the 600 miles are covered then change the oil again, After that it will be as the book say's. Just my thoughts.

Re: is what george white's said right
it was "my" new bike but it had a one owner that had only done 213 miles on it

Re: is what george white's said right
It's 600 miles or 8 weeks, something like that. So if you have a K6 and you are the 2nd owner it's not unheard of that the previous owner had it over 8 weeks - and hence had the 1st service done.

Re: is what george white's said right
its already been said but the 600 mile service is important because your engine is running in, 200 miles is to early it will need the oil dropping out at 600.

george whites is wrong (IMO)

Re: is what george white's said right
3500mls / 1yr from regdate is when the first service is due.
The 600mls 'service' is an oil and filter change. |
