Re: 7500 service

Read the warranty terms in the handbook. They'll tell you the bike must be serviced using OEM parts according to the manufacturer schedule, by a competent person.

For more of the same, try a search

Isn't the 7500 service a major one? I am booked in for this service even
though I have done 10000 miles.

Re: 7500 service

Just did the 7500 mile service myself, saved a whole lot of cash. Stuck on a new pair of tyres while I was at it (Conti road-attacks, very nice).
Changed the oil (fully synth), stuck on a new oil filter and changed the plugs. I know you don't need to do these, but I felt like it.

Checked over the bike as a whole and shook the crud out of the air filter.

Job done. Saved a fortune, although i don't have the dealer stamp...:smt018

Lovely.

And as stated - if this is carried out by a competent person using quality parts the warranty still stands. This was brought in to prevent dealers forcing customers to take their bikes to them for the service stamps. Or something similar.

The list of what is meant to be done is shown in the owners manual. I just changed the lot, except the air filter which was fine.

Re: 7500 service

7500 mile is intermediate service, includes all the minor service items, oil change, check fasteners, clean, lube & adjust chain, cables, lever pivots, shift linkage, brake pins, clutch adjustment , etc.

+ tuneup, sparkplugs, airfilter, carb/throttle body sync, etc

major service @ 15k includes all of the above + valve inspection/adjustment
