Mobile Speed Cameras

How good are they? Just coming home in my cage following someone doing over the odds and there was a mobile speed camera. Am I safeish being behind another speeding motorist or will we both get done?

Not sure of the range but once I saw him I slammed my anchors on so I may have just got away with it but it was very obvious my braking as the car was squerming around a little ;)

i would imagine it depends how close you were as he would have to see your plate as well.

And i think the saftey camera vans can only do one car at a time, as they are basically hand held ones mounted in a van with a few odds and sod added to them.

Re: Mobile Speed Cameras

The mobile camera vans use video evidence. To record a speed the laser is aimed at the flatest part of the front of a vehicle, usually the area of the number plate. that is the vehicle that will be prosecuted, not another vehicle following even if it is obvious that it was also speeding. If the gap between the two vehicles is sufficient to allow the operator to ping both, one after the other then, then both will receive a NIP (Notice of Intended Prosecution) within 14 days as the previous entry states.
