The Which New Bike For Nick Thread?

Started a thread to stop the ape from crying when he see's how much OT the Dobles thread has been dragged.

Place your suggestions here for a SPORTS bike for roughly £3000. Bare in mind the Hornet riding position wasn't liked, so nothing like that.

Suggestions at the moment include:

CBR600f
R6
Blade
ZX6R

Personally for the money, i reckon you will get a lot more bike if you got an older R6 or Ninja....but hey ho. By all accounts the 600f is a great bike....but they seem to hold their value really well. I expect you would be lucky to get a FI(2000+) model for 2k.

So TVSF members....any suggestions? Or have you spotted any bargains locally?

Lets ease Nick's pain :p

Budget is up to 3k now :-)

Gonna spend more on a bike and less on a car.. I'm liking the ZX6R ninjas but only from 2003 onwards, there arent any below £3.5 :-(

Old R6 maybe 2002 model in a private sale may do. Gonna try and get a ride on a CBR600F this arvo..

Cheers ASM - You bored?! ;-)

Yep definitely.....really missing the bike now i cant ride it. I could easily not ride for a few days before but now i cant i want to ride all the time!

However when im incapacitated i spend sod all £'s so will build up a nice supply to make mods galore to the bike when i can :)

I reckon thats a good decision(but i would wouldn't i) as not only are there some decent cars for £1000 but £3000 give you lots more options bike wise.

Cant believe you sold it Nick, its such a shame as it was a lovely bike. Still its always fun bike hunting!

Personally I've always fancied a ZX6R in green, but that is purely cause I think they good. I should point out here that I have no experience of what they are like to ride!

Apart from the obvious jap four, a few left field possibles for you to consider,

Ducati 900ss
Kwak z750
Buel firebolt
Daytona 600/650
probably manage an early sp1 even?

Cheers mark.

I should have mentioned that i've only been riding for 5 months so insurance on some of those would be astronomical! Can't get anything over a 600 really.. Maybe a kwak 750 wouldnt be too bad but it's got the Hornet riding position which I didn't get on with. Needs to be a sports bike.

OK TT600, one of the sweetest handling chassis I've every ridden (well excluding race bikes that is).

the ducati and buel are both 900s but you'll be surprise, your RR would be on the "more nickable" list so they could be about the same insurance wise.

Cheers Mark.

Looking at this - ZX6R NINJA

Looks like it could be within reach due to the mileage..

Looks quite good. I wouldn't worry unduly about the mileage if its been regularly serviced.

I woud expect that you can get if for under your budget as well, what with the minor imperfections and it being an ex demo.

I will be monitoring it now ;)

Or you could just take ASM's bike...as he wont be needing it much at the moment ;)
