2008 Gsx-r600/750 & R6?
 

Does anyone know when details of these are likely to be available?

I'm just going off rumours that manufacturers update their models every 2 years now, so these should be due an update. I've heard rumours about the GSX-Rs, but not the R6 though?

It'll be next year before I can (or rather want to) get a sports bike again now so just finding out what might be around :D

The 2007 R6 was just a colour change from the 2006 model....not sure about 2008....dont think any details have been released. If the 2008 looks anything like the 2006/7 i wouldn't buy it....ugly as sin :)

Yamaha sent me an email this week. If you check here www.yamaha-motor-europe.com at 4.30 this afternoon, all of the 2008 models are baing unveilled :cool:

Lol that's the GSX-R thou...I can't afford the insurance on that...a 600 yes, maybe a 750...

ASM, I don't know that it's definitely a new model next year - like I say, just going off what I've heard that manufacturers are changing their 600's every 2 years now - so both the R6 and GSX-R have had both '06 and '07 as the same model.

Gixxer 600 is deffo to be renewed next year thats why they are selling them cheap and doin ins deals. Depends what you plan to use bike for as to which to go for. R6 better track bike- gixxer better road bike, 750 might be a handfull if you havnt ridden the latest sports bikes! I wanted the 750 but an 03 model 1000 came up of a mate cheap and it is ballistic.(eats rear tyres aswell!!);)

Have you got any details? Not being funny but how can you say which of the new R6 and new GSX-R would be the better track and road bike - e.g. from what I gather (ask Rigor, in fact) the new 600RR has a fair whack of midrange, which would make quite a good road bike, yet previous RRs were more track-oriented given the amount of revs they required.

Btw I had (until last Wednesday) an 07 GSX-R so I don't think I'd be surprised by any of the 600s the bring out, but don't know of the difference a 750 makes. Also, not sure if I could afford the 750's insurance.
