J&S Accessories - TOP SERVICE

Some of you may remember my issues with waterproofs not being waterproof.

http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=85060

J&S replaced the good for me no problems but since then I have had further leaks and even been soaked to the skin.

Not being happy to accept this I again spoke to J&S who were really helpful (online team and instore in Greenwich) and advised me that the stuff I had was probably not the best for my daily commute and that something a bit more robust would be better.

As I was happy to pay any difference between the cr*p stuff I had bought and what they suggested they came up with a few options for me.

I have now ended up with:

Frank Thomas Aqua Jet Jacket (2 year guarantee)
Frank Thomas Aqua Jet Trousers (2 year guarantee)
Oxtar SS Performance Boots

I had to add £99.99 to what I had previously paid (£99.99 for the jacket and trousers and £69.99 for the boots). Still even with the extra money I am chuffed with the new stuff and the service from J&S, but also the fact that the new stuff has 2 year guarantees.

THANKS J&S. :p

Just worn the trousers for the first time (thermals in) - the are the nuts. I can't wait for it to get cold.

Frank Thomas: I've had an Aqua Pore jacket for 4 1/2 years and have been out in some evil rain for long periods in that time. It's still waterproof, apart from the lower end of the front fastening where it rucks up against the tank. I usually only find out when I take it off, so the water's coming slowly enough to get to body temperature.

Oh, and the 'breathable' membrane should be prosecuted under the trade description act. Wear it in remotely warm weather and I get soaked.

I've been looking at getting some Frank Thomas trousers but wasn't sure whether they'd be any good, I may get some now. If you don't mind me asking krhall what size waist are you and what size trousers did you get?

I'm a 32-33" waist (when I breathe in!) and I bought a Medium.

When they have the thermal lining in they are a snug fir, but actually that's good as it made me feel more secure, although as it was sunny - by the time I got home I was melting!!!

Also with that 2 year guarantee you can't go wrong.

I'm 33-34 so think I should probably try a Large :(, I was going to get some Alpinestars ones but the guy on eBay seems to be taking a while sorting out the right size.
