Would exhaust wrap foil the boys in blue on a non-standard can?
My Daytona has a genuine Triumph sports can on. It look svirtually identical to the standard pipe but is a bit sweeter on the ears. However underneath it is quite clearly stamped "not for road use". Do you reckon if I wrapped it or half of it in exhaust wrap I could foil the fuzz? It might even look ok if I done it in black.
What do you think peeps? :) |
Re: Would exhaust wrap foil the boys in blue on a non-standard can?
I would say that it probably wouldn't due to the fact that I don't know of a single bike that comes with a wrapped exhaust as OE.
Also, if you were particularly unlucky it could even lead you to being charged with something more serious (in the same way that grinding down the "not for road use" stamp can). This is by no means THE definitive answer - just based on what I have read / heard. The bottom line with any mod is - if it's not legal don't moan if you get nicked !! |

I have the same can on my daytona and the stamp you speak of is only a bit of paint which comes off with regular *cough cough*cleaning with autosol*cough cough*

I never considered it'd stick out a mile to clever plods. DOH! Think I'll just change up a few gears when I see some. :) |
