Shock question
Im soon to be upping the Shocks on my SV to GIXER 750 K5's And the 1000 rear shock, question is will this benefit me when i have the mrs on the back? will the bike be any smoother were not too heavy, about 17 stone combined
or will it just be a purely handeling upgrade? basicaly it would be nice for the bike to shift a little quicker with the mrs on it too.. (makes her sound like a beast lol,) or is just how the bike is two up and cant really be changed? i found the whole front end including wheel excluding tyre for £1000, good? bad? Lyle J |
Re: Shock question
Good afternoon.
Things can get tricky when doing modifications to suspension such as you're planning. However, as long as everything is installed & set up correctly you will find that the bike will handle better, therefore it should handle better with your good lady aboard, & having a far greater range of adjustment front & rear should enable you to tailor the suspension more accurately. No modern bike will handle as well with a passenger, as it does when ridden solo. Unlike my old GT500 which would only stop weaving when a suitably brave passenger was installed:D. As to the question of value, front end parts command a premium due to them usually being the first to cop it in an accident. If the set up you're looking at is in perfect order, & includes discs/calipers etc, it's not far off the mark. Cheers. |
