120/60 or 120/70

My ex, who is 'kin fast, is doing a trackday at Mallory on her new to her SV650 K3. She's fitting new Avon Vipers for the occasion, and needs to know whether to go for a 60% profile or a 70%. Will a 70% make that much difference, having never done this on an SV I haven't a scooby.

Re: 120/60 or 120/70

For track, 120/70 would have a larger foot print whilst learnt over. Lower the front(from standard) 10mm-12mm.

I don't know about the Pointy but on the Curvy, 12mm is about the Maximum you can go before stuff begin to get intimate :o(lower you hits dust seal) so a good idea of course to check clearance on full compression.

On the road(on a standard bike) I prefer the more neutral handling of the 120/60. 120/70 on a standard bike on the road just takes a bit more effort to crank over, that's all.

Quite a few folks(especially across the pound) seem to love the 120/70......but then again some of the folks across the pound appear to just join a band wagon.....a bit like PP or nothing else

Currently running a 120/70 with GSXR 600 K4 front end with front ride height equivalent to dropping forks 10mm.
GSXR(2001 GSXR 1000) yoke offset numbers gives roughly 3mm less trail compared to standard so just about peachy for me. 5mm more on the shock I reckon would make it just the way I like and want. Like a lazy setup myself.
