Yeah but at the same time, I wonder what the world of music would be like if he hadn't of lived ;)
I'd say he was the catalyst that made (and will make) a good 99.9% of modern rock/blues guitarists pick up a guitar in the first place, the man was a musical genius.
I mean, when you disect and listen to the seperate tracks in his studio recordings it sounds awful, no rythm or consistency etc.
It's not until you hear the tracks in a particlar song all put together you can really see how his mind worked, that's what I mean by genius.
Love Or Confusion, Third Stone From The Sun and Are You Experienced are good examples of this.

I can remember roughly 17 years ago watching Slash from Gun's N' Roses on video doing a gig in Tokyo (i think).
He played this awsome yet short riff which completley amazed me, my dad turned to me and said "it's not as good as the original" it turned out he was playing the intro to Voodoo Child (slight return).
Ever since then i've been a hardcore Hendrix fan and like I said above picked up a guitar and have never looked back, thanks Jimi and especialy to Slash for tuning me into Hendrix all those years ago.
