Mounting OEM damper
Has anyone ever mounted an OEM damper in the manner shown below? Is there a better way to mount it on a naked bike? This mounting arrangement apparently requires relocating the horn and drilling a hole in the tripple tree in a place that looks like it was designed to be drilled.

as far as im aware there is no oem dampner for the sv650, i cant vouch for the sv1000 tho but i know that the tl1000 had one retrofitted to the 97 models and as stock on the 98on models but that isnt one from a tl as they look like the pic below.
http://forums.sv650.org/attachment.p...1&d=1190149469 im interested as to where you got this dampner from as it obviously doesnt have any makers marks on it and why you want one for as i never had any trouble on my sv no matter how hard i pushed it, i just couldnt get it to shake its head in anyway that could be considered remotely risky. as for is it safe to mount like that, not a clue but drilling holes in stuff i dont understand is something im generally against |

I bought the stabilizer on Ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=130152627878 The reason for a stabilizer in my instance is that the suspension is set a bit aggressively and I believe it would be good to have stabilazation in a variety of circumstances, such as a serious turn where a rough road surface was encountered that could otherwise result in a loss of front-end stability.
